Welcom To Our New Website!

Thanks so much for stopping in to read this! We are hard at work on the website and hope that you will revisit frequently to see the updated work. We are hoping to construct a website that will provide a new portal for especially the Poison Dart Frog enthusiast. We will use pictures as a new tool and dimension in Dart Frog shopping. Many of the higher dollar frogs will be individually pictured so you can select exactly the frog you are looking for. Instead of having to rely on one picture posted on a website offering frogs for sale, here you will have the ability to see a picture of the exact frog that you are looking to purchase! There will also be an extensive gallery that we are hoping can become an important tool for any Dart Frog hobbyist. We are aiming to make it very easy to navigate and we are hoping that it will help to create a clearer picture of the variability and features of the many dart frogs we offer. We have many frogs pass through our facility on a monthly basis and we will keep adding pictures and information to this site for a long time to come. We are also working hard to get some complete availability lists posted on the rest of the animals that we carry as we are truly a full line exotics shop. We carry anything from Dwarf Opossums to Giant Centipedes! We specialize in the Dart Frogs, Exotic Mammals, Arachnids (spiders and scorpions) and all kinds of reptiles. Please feel free to contact us directly for more information on this.

New Frog Shipment From Panama!

We got yet another fantastic shipment of frogs from Panama. They just finished a solid three weeks of quarantine and look absolutely beautiful! We got three different morphs of adult sized D. auratus: Green/Black Panama, Acon Hill (yellow spotted variety) and some stunning looking adult Blues. We also have over 100 new O. pumilio Almirante and over 60 O. pumilio Bastimentos that are amazing looking. Both of these species are truly living gems. They both sport blood red bodies! The Almirantes have greenish legs and the Bastimentos have black spotting on the top and legs. Check out the pictures under "individual frogs for sale" as each of these individuals are pictured. No more guessing what you will get! We also have a very limited amount of the highly sought after O. pumilio Cauchero Blue. Don't miss out on these as export/availability on this frog is extremely sporadic. It was nearly 10 months since we saw a few scrawny individuals pass through a wholesaler in Miami (we even passed on these frogs as they were in very poor condition and did not look like they would even last through our quarantine). There are also some very nice looking O. pumilio Guarmo River available. These are bold little frogs that are a much smaller morph. Even though they are small, they are quite productive little frogs. Many of these have bred for people within days of arrival and they have even laid eggs for us in our holding tanks! All of these frogs are the perfect breeding project. Don't miss out!

Crocodile Monitor!

We just got a fantastic Crocodile Monitor here at Amazing Pets! This is one of the planets largest lizards topping out at record lengths of around twelve feet. Although the very closely related Komodo Dragon is considered the largest of the lizards by weight, the Crocodile Monitor may perhaps be the longest (even though up to three quarters of the length can be the tail!). This black lizard which is spotted with gold specks hails from the jungles of New Guinea where they are very difficult to even spot. They are diurnal and arborial in nature spending most of their time in the thick jungle high up in the trees where they hunt mainly birds and mammals. One of the most impressive characteristics of this monitor are their incredibly large and razor sharp teeth. They are well known to produce one of the most severe bites of any reptile in the world! Their teeth are angled backwards and can best be described like the teeth of a T-Rex. Come and see our four foot long Crocodile Monitor on display at Amazing Pets!

New shipment of frogs from Panama!

We just released 140 O. pumilio that just came out of quarantine! There are three color varieties that arrived. We have O. pumilio from Almirante, Cuacharo and Guarmo River. All the frogs were treated with Baytril, Panacur, Ivermectin and were also given antifungal baths. Each frog is currently housed separately. It has been incredibly labor intensive to treat each frog daily in their 140 little homes, but in the end it will be very worthwhile as we will be able to offer a much higher caliber frog. Each frog is individually pictured on our website (www.amazingpets.biz) under Amphibians. The website is still under construction so please bear with us on this! The gallery is fully functional and should be a very useful reference tool as it contains many pictures of frogs that we have carried in the past or currently have in stock. There are even some interesting pictures of D. auratus, D. granuliferus and O. pumilio that were taken in the wild during one of my many trips to Costa Rica. Check it out!
